Does Being a Rotarian Still Matter?
May 21, 2026 6:00 PM
I have a serious question. As a Rotarian, do you ever wonder how relevant you are as a volunteer? Do you find yourself asking, AM I REALLY MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN MY COMUNITY AND IN THE WORLD? If you are interested in the answers, please read on. The Lone Star Rotary e-Club invites you to an inspiring presentation and discussion on the vital role Rotary and civic leadership plays in strengthening our communities. As volunteer patterns change and community needs continue to grow, we believe organizations like Rotary are more important than ever. This presentation will explore how service creates meaning, how relationships build stronger communities, and how today’s leaders can help prepare the next generation. With a focus on mentorship, nonprofit sustainability, ethical leadership, and community impact, this program reminds us that leadership does not begin with a title — it begins when people choose to serve. Come be encouraged, challenged, and reminded why Service Above Self still matters. This is the link to our meeting! About the speaker: Real Provencher is a business advisor and leader who works with owners and leadership teams to improve clarity, strengthen execution, and build organizations that perform consistently. With decades of experience across multiple industries, he brings a practical, real-world perspective to the challenges that business leaders face—and the disciplined approaches required to solve them.

Early Act / First Knight
Sep 03, 2026 6:00 PM
Please join us Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 6 p.m. Central Time for the regular online meeting of the Lone Star Rotary e-Club.
Our program speaker will be Randall Parr, a Rotarian from District 5840 in the San Antonio area and an experienced representative of EarlyAct FirstKnight, a character-building program formed in District 5840 in 2005. The program first launched successfully with sponsorship from the Rotary Club of Boerne and has since continued expanding across District 5840, Texas, and the United States.
EarlyAct FirstKnight is unique in the field of character education. The program teaches high ethical standards, service, and Rotary International lessons to the entire student body every day, alongside core academic subjects such as math, science, and social studies.
Unlike a traditional Interact or EarlyAct Club, EarlyAct FirstKnight is a required course of study for every child. Its integrated components include classroom curriculum, Rotarian-led service opportunities, award assemblies, live-action program options, and parent education.
In EarlyAct FirstKnight schools, students recite the Four-Way Test from memory each day, begin learning about Paul Harris in third grade, and by fifth grade are introduced to the latest news about PolioPlus and Rotary’s global impact.
Rotarian Parr will share his knowledge and personal experiences with this dynamic educational and character-building program.
Our online meeting is open to all Rotarians and guests. We would love to have you join us.
