The Birthday Joy Program
Apr 16, 2026 6:00 PM
π Lone Star Rotary e-Club – Weekly Meeting π Join us for our regular meeting of the Lone Star Rotary e-Club—open to all Rotarians and guests. Whether you're a longtime Rotarian or just curious about what we do, you’re always welcome to pull up a chair (or log in) and be part of the conversation. This week, we are honored to welcome Kim Jackson, Executive Director of The Birthday Joy Program. Kim leads a mission that is both simple and powerful: ensuring children living in crisis are celebrated, seen, and reminded that they matter—especially on their birthdays. A dedicated volunteer turned leader, Kim has served the organization in multiple roles, including two terms on the Board of Directors, before stepping into her current role in 2023. Beyond her nonprofit leadership, Kim serves full-time as a school counselor and is a passionate advocate for children and mental health. Her work reflects a deep belief that every child deserves dignity, joy, and a sense of self-worth—especially during life’s most meaningful moments. Her impact has not gone unnoticed—Kim was honored with the 2022 Athena Leadership Award from the League City Chamber of Commerce. This will be a heartfelt and inspiring presentation about service, compassion, and the power of small moments to make a lasting difference. π Come for the program. Guests are always welcome. |

Does Being a Rotarian Still Matter?
May 21, 2026 6:00 PM
I have a serious question. As a Rotarian, do you ever wonder how relevant you are as a volunteer? Do you find yourself asking, AM I REALLY MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN MY COMUNITY AND IN THE WORLD? If you are interested in the answers, please read on. The Lone Star Rotary e-Club invites you to an inspiring presentation and discussion on the vital role Rotary and civic leadership plays in strengthening our communities. As volunteer patterns change and community needs continue to grow, we believe organizations like Rotary are more important than ever. This presentation will explore how service creates meaning, how relationships build stronger communities, and how today’s leaders can help prepare the next generation. With a focus on mentorship, nonprofit sustainability, ethical leadership, and community impact, this program reminds us that leadership does not begin with a title — it begins when people choose to serve. Come be encouraged, challenged, and reminded why Service Above Self still matters. This is the link to our meeting!
