The Science of Trust: a Guide for Leaders and Teams

Oct 17, 2024

As a leader, how does one move forward in any situation without trust? Trust in the workplace. Trust within a relationship. Trust in Rotary clubs. In this week's program, Dr. Jessica Wright, author of "The Science of Trust" breaks it down and helps us understand how vital trust is as we develop not only our leadership skills, but also our interpersonal capabilities of growing into better servants of our communities.

Making a Leader

Nov 07, 2024

American football coach Vince Lombardi once said, "Leaders aren't born, they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work."  Matthew Bloodsworth is a leader born with Down Sydrome. In this special program, we will learn from Matthew himself how he rose to the challenges of becoming an advocate for adults living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Together with his mother, Cindy, we will hear his inspiring true story of courage, determination and love.

Do Your Part and Save a Heart!

Nov 21, 2024 6:00 PM

The Lone Star Rotary e-Club is doing its part to save a heart. We are puchasing Automated External Defibrillators, or AEDs, to be placed at kids' camps and senior centers. Join our meeting to learn the facts.

Did you know...

1. Sudden cardiac arrest is happening more to young people. It is rare, but according to the Center for Disease Contraol and Prevention, about 2,000 young, seemingly healthy people under age 25 in the United States die each year of sudden cardiac arrest.

2. According to the same report, more than 356,000 cardiac arrests will happen out-of-hospital annually in the U.S., and nearly 90% of them fatal.

REGISTER HERE NOW to attend this free webinar!

You've seen him on television. You've heard him on radio. You've read his books. Rick Steves is America's leading authority on European travel. Rick Steves also builds goodwill and better friendships around the globe. He is a philanthropist who supports and works closely with many advocacy groups and organizations whose missions fit his own. Because Rick Steves' Europe is privately held, the company uses profits to empower organizations that work for the common good instead of funding shareholders.
